I was requested to review L’Oreal’s Infinite Eyeshadow in Endless Sea and Maybelline’s Color Tattoo in Tenacious Teal after my post 24 Hours Of Colorful Madness cause they appeared to be quite similar, but these eyeshadows are anything but.
Top (without flash), Bottom (with flash)
In the pots these eyeshadows look almost identical, but once swatched they are very different shades. Endless Sea has a lot more turquoise and gold shimmer whereas Tenacious Teal is more of a true blue with equal amount of blue and silver shimmer.
I applied both without any primer or base)
L’Oreal Infinite Eyeshadow
This version of 24 hour eyeshadow is where, in my opinion, blows Maybelline’s version out of the water. This eyeshadow is a wet powder that with your finger or brush applies effortlessly and did not budge during the entire time I had it on, even without a primer :).
Maybelline Color Tattoo
Without a primer this eyeshadow barely lasted. I only kept it on after five hours cause it started creasing pretty bad :(. This is a cream eyeshadow so it was more difficult to apply for me and needed to be built up a lot with my brush to get even coverage. I would probably only ever use this color as an eyeliner.
Okay, so I went a little crazy today when I stopped by Walgreens. I’ve desperately been seeking for the Maybelline Color Tattoo Eyeshadows for quite sometime now but every time I go they’re out of all the colors I don’t have. Well today I promised myself I was going on a tight budget for the next couple of weeks till rent/bills were covered. So of course when I stopped by Walgreens this morning, guess what was in stock and BOGO 50%?!
I also had a few $1 off coupons for any Maybelline product so after the discount plus coupon (yay me!) it was $13! Considering these babies are normally $7 each I was so happy to have saved 8 smackers :). Unfortunately, my wallet and brain were not in sync today so I bought more. Since I heard great things about these tiny treasures I had to pick these up as well.
L’Oreal also had a BOGO 50% off (its like they now I am broke but also weak for beauty products lol) so I got these Infallible 24 Hour Eyeshadows as well.
L to R; Pomegrante Punk, Tough As Taupe, Fierce And Tangy, Edgy Emerald, Tenacious Teal, and Painted Purple
I also swatched the couple I already owned :)
L to R; Midnight Blue, Liquid Diamond, Perpetual Purple, and Endless Sea
I will say the major difference between these two brands is the Maybelline is a cream/gel texture, but the L’Oreal is a dense wet powder (if that makes sense lol).
Can’t wait to try these out!
Have you tried either brands 24 Hour Eyeshadow? Did you like it? Leave a comment!
I had already purchased NYX Glitter pigments and adored them, so naturally I knew it was safe to say the pearl pigments would be just as gorgeous! I ordered a few of them the other day and got them last night, but since it was rainy crap day here I was mostly just being lazy. All I can say is these pigments went beyond my expectations and I love em’.
L to R: Nude Pearl, Mocha Pearl, Charcoal Pearl, Very Pink Pearl, Jade Pearl and Turquoise Pearl.
These swatch beautifully and trust me you do not need a lot, these are very dense and vibrant powders.
Today I wanted to play around and try out these pigments so I did a very simple look. I used Jade Pearl Mania on my lids and lower lashline, and black liquid liner to finish off the look. I also used the Nude Pearl Mania for a brow bone highlighter.
Now for the final look…(drum role lol)
To make sure the pearl pigment would stick with no fall out I used Maybelline Color Tattoo in Edgy Emerald.
I paired this bright eye look with a nude lip color but you can use whichever color you want :)
What I used:
Skin79 Hot Pink Super+ B.B. Cream
Maybelline Fit Me! Foundation in #225
Rimmel Stay Matte Translucent Pressed Powder
Pür Minerals Glow Powder
Too Faced Blush in Pinch My Petals
Maybelline Color Tattoo in Edgy Emerald
NYX Pearl Mania in Jade Pearl and Nude Pearl
NYX Collection Noir Liquid Black Liner
Too Faced Size Queen Mascara
ULTA Lipstick in In the Buff
NYX Mega Shine Lip Gloss in Natural
If you don’t own these awesome pigments you gotta get your hands on em’! They come in 30 colors total at $3 a bottle.
