Happy Friday nerds and nerdettes! It’s almost Memorial Day Weekend here in the states, which means the first official weekend of going to the pool or beach. The fiancé and I will be doing neither unfortunately because the weather has been so crappy lately, and to be honest it isn’t even that hot here (shockingly!). So instead we’ll be spending time with my family at my sister’s for a cookout.
I’m so excited! Memorial Day weekend is usually the kickoff of our summer adventures; fishing trips, drive-in movies, cookouts, and tons of swimming.
In the meantime, I picked up a couple of Summer essentials, one of which is a product I will be trying for the first time. Continue reading
This past weekend was my oldest nephew’s 4th birthday so I was on the hunt for an awesome gift. While I was out finding his birthday present I also picked up a few items for myself as well :). Every time I go to Walmart or Target I see more of the drugstore brand’s Summer 2012 line and its hard to say no haha. Also, after hitting pan (I couldn’t believe it!) on my favorite bronzer I had to find a replacement.
Here’s my weekend haul…
1. L’ORÉAL Colour Riche Colour Caresse Lipsticks in #172 Blushing Sequin and #176 Sunset Angora
L to R; Blushing Sequin & Sunset Angora (without and with flash)
2. Hard Candy So Baked Bronzer in Tropics
3. Hard Candy Blush Crush Baked Blush in Bombshell and Living Doll
Swatches for bronzer and blushes…
4. Sinful Colors Nail Polish in Timbleberry, Big Daddy, Innocent, and Cream Pink
My camera is not doing justice to the Cream Pink polish, its a cream fuschia with gold shimmer (its so gorgeous!).
I normally don’t show off my nails cause they’re normally just hot pink (I’m redundant I know lol) but today I decided to try something new, and since I love all things rainbow color coordinated I did a bright rainbow nail with some glitter :).
I hadn’t tried out the NYX polishes I bought from Cherry Culture yet so I used the pink color I bought for my nails, the color is very opaque and I only needed one coat! All the other polishes minus the Sinful Colors were cheap polishes from Five Below, the brand is Funky Fingers and they’re $1.50 each with a large assortment of colors. For cheap polishes they’re pretty decent, they last as long as the higher end brands but can be transparent, you’ll need atleast two coats.
The polishes I used:
NYX Advanced Salon Formula in Hot Pink
Funky Fingers Polish in Kingston
Sinful Colors Professional in Neon Melon
Funky Fingers Polish in Riot
Funky Fingers Polish in Sand & Stilletos (best glitter polish I’ve found!)
Finished it off with a thick coat of top coat.
