Sephora VIB Rouge Haul & Quick Update

Happy Hump Day nerds and nerdettes! I am enjoying this lovely Spring (finally!) weather here in Maryland with my fur nephews Squirt and Salt. It’s been a while since my last post and quite a few things have changed. I am no longer working at Columbia Academy, after working as a preschool teacher for three years I decided it was time to go back to school to finish getting my degree. Unfortunately, my employer and I were not able to come up with a reasonable schedule so I could attend school and work, so I had to do what was best for myself and my future.

I absolutely miss my students and the lovely ladies I have formed a very strong bond with, but I know this is what’s best for me and my fiance. Speaking of the fiance, he recently went back to school to obtain his certificate in his current field so I am super excited that both of us will be back in school!

Now, onto the goodies I have hauled! Continue reading

Curls & A Haul

It’s Friday! Not only is it Friday, but its Friday the 13th (cue the scary music!). My boyfriend and I are die hard horror fanatics so we decided to stay in, order some take-out and have a Friday The 13th movie marathon. Before we started our horrorthon we went grocery shopping and I stopped by Walmart to grab a few things.

I needed a new bottle of toner and I heard Avalon Organics Vitamin C Renewal Balancing Toner is a great toner for combination skin. I also picked up a few masks for those lazy days around the house :). These masks are $1.50 at Walmart and believe me these work wonders!

I also spent some birthday money my boyfriend’s parents gave me and picked up this amazing curling wand I’ve had my eyes on for quite a while.

I don’t normally curl my hair cause traditional curling irons are not my forte, but this wand had me falling head-over-heels! It is a tad frustrating to maneuver at first, but once you get the hang of it you’ll be in love.

BAM! Curls :).

How are you spending your Friday the 13th? Leave a comment!

Walmart & Target Haul

This past weekend was my oldest nephew’s 4th birthday so I was on the hunt for an awesome gift. While I was out finding his birthday present I also picked up a few items for myself as well :). Every time I go to Walmart or Target I see more of the drugstore brand’s Summer 2012 line and its hard to say no haha. Also, after hitting pan (I couldn’t believe it!) on my favorite bronzer I had to find a replacement.

Here’s my weekend haul…

1. L’ORÉAL Colour Riche Colour Caresse Lipsticks in #172 Blushing Sequin and #176 Sunset Angora

L to R; Blushing Sequin & Sunset Angora (without and with flash)

2. Hard Candy So Baked Bronzer in Tropics

3. Hard Candy Blush Crush Baked Blush in Bombshell and Living Doll

Swatches for bronzer and blushes…

4. Sinful Colors Nail Polish in Timbleberry, Big Daddy, Innocent, and Cream Pink

My camera is not doing justice to the Cream Pink polish, its a cream fuschia with gold shimmer (its so gorgeous!).

E.L.F. Haul

It seems taboo to buy quality makeup at a stores like Big Lots or the Dollar Store, but when they have hard to find items from one of my favorite brands its hard to pass up! When my sister told me she saw e.l.f. products at the Dollar Tree I had to find out for myself :). I was pleasantly surprised they had a Studio Line products there and for only a buck (obviously lol).

1. 2-in-1 Conditioning Gloss in Fanatic

2. Glossy Gloss in Ballet Slippers

I was at Big Lots this past weekend and decided to check out their selection of discount makeup products and bought these e.l.f. items plus a philosophy product!

1. e.l.f. Eye Primer & Line Sealer

2. e.l.f. Lip Balm in Pink and Rose

3. Philosophy Lit From Within Healthy Cream Blush in Feel Warm All Over

By the way this blush is amazing! I read a lot of reviews on this after I bought it (kinda ass backwards I guess lol) and it didn’t seem to work too well for most. It’s not a very bright blush once applied, but it gives a very lovely flushed cheek :).

As always I stopped by Target for some makeup and got these :)…

You can never have enough makeup brushes :)

1. e.l.f. Tinted Moisturizer in Nude

2. e.l.f. Eyeshadow Brushes

3. e.l.f. Defining Eye Brush

I also swatched the lippies…

Internet Haul

It seems like I can’t go 5 minutes without going through shopping withdrawl and need to buy something! I buy most of my higher end beauty and makeup products online cause it’s faster and guaranteed to be available. This morning I checked HauteLook for their beauty deals steals of the day, and I was excited to find one of the beauty events is one of my sought after brands that I’ve never tried before.

Every time I stop by my second home, Target, I always go to the makeup aisles and browse (and buy of course lol). I always seem to make my way towards the Pixi Beauty section and see tons of cute cosmetics I’d love to buy but can’t fathom spending such a pretty penny on something I haven’t heard much about, or have purchased before. You can imagine my excitement when I saw Pixi was having a sale and the one item I wanted the most was a mega steal.

The Ultimate Beauty Kit has 32 gorgeous shadows ranging from mattes, shimmers, and brights, 16 lip glosses, and 8 blushes with pink, peach, and mauve hues. This adorable palette is retailed at $40, but for today only I purchased it for $15! I am too excited to wait for this palette but sadly I must lol, but once this baby gets in my hands I will be testing this out and reviewing :).

I also picked up Pop Beauty’s Lip Magnet Primer, No.1 Naked Nude.

It plumps and primes lips for application of lip gloss or lipstick. I haven’t seen this product at ULTA where Pop Beauty products are sold so I’m not too sure how well this works but it’s retailed for $15 but I got it for $4. While at ULTA this past weekend I was browsing the fragrances and tested one I admittedly never heard of but have seen the pretty bottle.

Lolita Lempicka’s Lolita Lempicka fragrance is an alluring fragrance that gently balances the sweetness of ivy leaves and aniseed with delicate violet and iris root, and finishes with a smooth hint of vanilla and musk. This sensual fragrance is pure, light, and endearing.

Notes: Ivy Leaves, Aniseed, Amarena Heart, Violets, Iris Roots, Vetiver, Tonka Bean, Vanilla, Musk.

My description of this fragrance: heavenly :)

It was love at first spray, I can’t describe the scent but it lingered for hours on my clothes that had me sniffing my shirt all day. I was dead set on finding this perfume online cheaper than the retail price ($92!) and found it for $35 on Amazon.

I’ve got so many lovely packages coming I don’t know which I’m more excited for :).

Have you tried any of these products, if so did you like/dislike them? Leave a comment!

Target Haul

Two posts in one day? Say it ain’t so :). On my voyage for storage I picked up a few things along the way, nothing much but a couple things I’ve been dying to try.

1. Sinful Colors nail polish in Why Not (blue) and Neon Melon (yellow).

2. Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso. I heard this is a good dupe for Nars Orgasm blush so I had to get it!

3. Maybelline Baby Lips in Quenched and Pink Punch. I saw this combo at Target for $3! I love these lip balms, they smell yummy and keep my lips soft.

4. e.l.f. Kabuki brush

5. e.l.f. Shimmering Face Whip in Lilac Petals. I always seem to get to Target when this is long gone so imagine my excitement when they had it today! $1 for this!

6. Jordana Lip Color in Watermelon Kiss.

7. The cutest Hello Kitty cup ever!

8. A big bottle of Johnson’s baby shampoo. This will last me quite a while! I use this for my brushes because its a very gentle Cleanser and way cheaper than makeup brush shampoo. This bottle was $2 and will last me months, need I say more?

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend and this gorgeous weather!

Rainy Saturday & Last Night’s Haul

Since it’s raining here in Maryland and I have a touch of food poisoning (I know, lucky me lol) I figured I’d relax and chill with some movies, home manicures, and a facial. This is a multi store haul from Walmart, Target, and ULTA so I broke up the products by which store they were purchased at (I’m a bit of an organization freak).

First up is Walmart…

1. Sally Hansen Sexy Curls eyelashes curler. I needed a new one, I had a crappy one I bought years ago and the pad was gone from it.

2. Revlon Lip Butter in Creme Brulee. I couldn’t wait to try this and it is very lovely. It definitely made my lips super soft, my only disappointment is the color is a little too gold for my taste.

3. Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush in Peach Satin. Love it! My new favorite blush :).

4.L’Oreal Kajal Inspired Voluminous Smoldering Eyeliner in Black. It is very easy to apply, way easier than any other pencil liner I’ve ever bought, but it kept smudging on my eye and bled a little on my lower lashline. I like it but not enough to want to buy it again.

I also bought a few more masks here. I try to stock up on these cause on days like these I can pampered my sick self while I watch movies with the boyfriend.

Next up, the Target haul…

1. e.l.f. 85 piece palette. This my first purchase of any e.l.f. products so I’m super excited to try these out. By the way this palette was only $10! If these colors aren’t for you, Target had other cute palettes for $3 to $10. This palette has 60 shadows, 20 lip glosses, 3 blushes, and 2 bronzers.

2. e.l.f. eyeshadow brush and bronzer brush, you can never have too many brushes! Especially when they’re $1.

3. e.l.f. Makeup Mist & Set. I’ve tried a few different setting sprays and to be honest I don’t really use them that often but for $3 I figured why not?

4. Maybelline Color Tattoo in Tough As Taupe. I already have this in Painted Purple and they are awesome, stays put all day and the color choices are amazing.

Last but not least my ULTA haul…

1. Neutrogena Pore Refining Toner. Since Winter is gone and the humidity is rolling in, I knew it was time to invest in a good toner. This toner is pretty good, it shrinks the look of my pores, doesn’t burn or dry my skin and smells good.

2. Queen Helene Grape Seed Extract Peel Off Masque. I loooove Queen Helene products, love em! I used the mint Julep mask to spot treat a giant pimple on my forehead (at least it felt giant), and it’s almost gone!

3. Studio Basics sponge applicators. They were 89 cents and I go through these quite often, just another essential.

4. China Glaze Nail Lacquer in Happy Go Lucky. I have searched far and wide for years looking for a cute yellow nail polish. Believe me it was harder than it sounds, most were shimmery (not a fan I like bright solid colors) or they were old and starting to separate. This is going on my nails tonight!

5. ULTA lipstick in In the Buff and ULTA lip liner in Flesh. I bought these cause ULTA had a BOGO Free, the color is my actual lip color but the products themselves are nothing to write home about. The color faded kinda quick, but its a nice back up nude lipstick/liner.

That’s my haul! Hope you enjoyed!
